Joe Manchin Delivers the Hurt to Chuck Schumer

Filibuster or no filibuster, the For the People Act is not going to become law.

In an op-ed published in the Charleston Gazette-Mail late Saturday night, West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, a Democrat in a bright red state, announced that he will vote against the For the People Act.

Since this legislation has no Republican support, Manchin’s decision pretty much kills the bill. Democrats will certainly reintroduce it in a future Congress, but hopefully Republicans will control either the House or the Senate or both chambers by then.

Manchin wrote, “The right to vote is fundamental to our American democracy and protecting that right should not be about party or politics. Least of all, protecting this right, which is a value I share, should never be done in a partisan manner.”

He recognizes that this legislation has become “overtly politicized” and took a swipe at the Republican legislatures in Georgia and Florida for passing laws that will require all voters to show an ID, writing that they “seek to needlessly restrict voting.” But he also criticized the Democrats “who ignore the need to secure our elections.”

If sweeping changes are made to election laws “in a partisan manner,” the Senator said it will guarantee that “partisan divisions continue to deepen.”

He points out the Democrats’ plan to eliminate the filibuster to pass this bill and reminds them of how important the filibuster has been “to protecting the rights of Democrats in the past.”

As a reminder, just four short years ago, in 2017 when Republicans held control of the White House and Congress, President Donald Trump was publicly urging Senate Republicans to eliminate the filibuster. Then, it was Senate Democrats who were proudly defending the filibuster. Thirty-three Senate Democrats penned a letter to Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. and Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., warning of the perils of eliminating the filibuster.

It has been said by much wiser people than me that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Well, what I’ve seen during my time in Washington is that every party in power will always want to exercise absolute power, absolutely. Our founders were wise to see the temptation of absolute power and built in specific checks and balances to force compromise that serves to preserve our fragile democracy. The Senate, its processes and rules, have evolved over time to make absolute power difficult while still delivering solutions to the issues facing our country and I believe that’s the Senate’s best quality.

Yes, this process can be frustrating and slow. It will force compromises that are not always ideal. But consider the alternative. Do we really want to live in an America where one party can dictate and demand everything and anything it wants, whenever it wants? I have always said, “If I can’t go home and explain it, I can’t vote for it.” And I cannot explain strictly partisan election reform or blowing up the Senate rules to expedite one party’s agenda.

The truth is there is a better way – if we seek to find it together.

And he concludes:

I believe that partisan voting legislation will destroy the already weakening binds of our democracy, and for that reason, I will vote against the For the People Act. Furthermore, I will not vote to weaken or eliminate the filibuster. For as long as I have the privilege of being your U.S. senator, I will fight to represent the people of West Virginia, to seek bipartisan compromise no matter how difficult and to develop the political bonds that end divisions and help unite the country we love.

On Thursday, Manchin told NBC News’ Capital Hill correspondent Garrett Haake that he’s not interested in passing an infrastructure bill with only Democratic support. “Basically, we need to be bipartisan,” Manchin said.

This is excellent news for Republicans and we can even forgive him for disagreeing with us on the voter ID requirement.

This is the second blow in less than a week for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. The first came from the Senate Parliamentarian. The majority party is allowed to use reconciliation twice in one year. The Democrats have used it once to pass the $1.9 trillion Covid relief bill and have one opportunity left. Schumer believed he had found a way to get an extra shot, however, the parliamentarian ruled that it can’t be used to avoid a filibuster. Which is precisely how he had intended to use it. I posted about this story here.

Biden Managed a Trifecta of Stupid in His Tulsa Massacre Speech

President Joe Biden traveled to Tulsa Oklahoma on Tuesday to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 1921 Tulsa Massacre. His comments ranged from the ludicrous to the downright dangerous. We’ll start with the ludicrous.

In the clip below, Biden says: “You turn on the stations… I don’t know many commercials you see … two to three out of five have mixed race couples in them. That’s not by accident. They’re selling soap, man.”

Maybe he meant to say “hope” and mistakenly said “soap.” Perhaps I’m being overly critical and should have compassion for an old man who suffers from dementia. But can America really afford to have a leader with dementia?

This man is going to face Russian President Vladimir Putin in two weeks. And at some point, he’ll meet with the most dangerous, ruthless man on the planet, Xi Jinping.

Moving on, Biden said, “According to the intelligence community, terrorism from white supremacy is the most lethal threat to the homeland today. Not ISIS, not Al Qaeda, white supremacy. That’s not me. That’s the intelligence community.”

Well, if that’s what the intelligence community really concludes, they should all be fired and replaced.

Our President continues: “Look around at hate crimes against Asian Americans and Jewish Americans. Hate never goes away. Hate only hides. … My administration will soon lay out our broader strategy to counter domestic terrorism and the violence driven by the most heinous hate crimes and other forms of bigotry.”

I’m not denying that white supremacy is an evil ideology, but it is far from the most lethal threat we face. The most deadly threats to the U.S. are currently China, Russia, and the violence caused by gangs and the drug cartels which the Biden Administration’s open border policy has just exacerbated. Any threat assessment that leaves out all of the above is disingenuous.

The President needs to take a closer look at the statistics which show that black Americans commit, both proportionately and in number, far more hate crimes against Asian Americans than any other race.

And it’s not only white supremacists who are behind the recent spate of anti-Semitic attacks in the U.S. The flag-bearing, pro-Palestinians we’re seeing in the news don’t look all that white to me.

Consider the blatant anti-Semitic statements coming from Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the tolerance of those remarks by a large portion of other party members. And, in case Biden was wondering, the world noticed his own rather tepid support of Israel during the recent hostilities with Hamas.

Anti-Semitic sentiment in the U.S. is NOT coming from the Republican Party that Biden’s comments were targeting.

Biden leaves out the Democrats’ war against whites. I would argue that the party’s embrace of wokeism might be the most serious threat of all. It’s certainly done more to divide Americans than anything else.

Biden then makes a very racist, insulting remark, although he won’t be called out for it. He said, “…young black entrepreneurs are just as capable of succeeding given the chance as white entrepreneurs are, but they don’t have lawyers, they don’t have accountants …” This comment is similar in substance to the Democrats’ argument that requiring voters to present ID suppresses the minority vote. This Democratic narrative is based on the assumption that blacks aren’t as smart or as capable as whites. I’ve never understood why blacks aren’t offended by that.

Biden, whose administration has done more to subvert America in less than five months than white supremacists could ever do, should not be lecturing us on what great nations do.

I’ll tell you what great nations don’t do. They don’t try to punish their citizens for atrocities that happened long before they were born. They don’t try to rewrite history. They don’t try to persecute their political enemies. Nor do they base their policy decisions on what will cement their power for generations to come.

The most dangerous threat we face today is our current government.

Audit Fever! Pennsylvania Sends Delegation to Tour the Maricopa County, AZ Audit Site

Reporting from the floor of the Maricopa County, Arizona forensic audit on Tuesday, OANN’s Christina Bobb told viewers a delegation from Pennsylvania had arrived on Tuesday and for a tour of the audit on Wednesday.

“They’ve expressed interest in the Arizona audit and possibly replicating this in Pennsylvania. … They are getting a behind the scene tour tomorrow. … They’re going to get to hear from the auditors exactly what is happening,” Bobb said.

“Of course, there’s been a lot of criticism of this audit. So, they have concerns that they want to see addressed, namely, is voter integrity maintained? Is the secret ballot maintained? Is there any way the audit could be disparaging to any demographic?”

“So, this is going to be an opportunity for them to get out exactly what’s happening in Arizona. If they like what they see, take it back to Pennsylvania.”

“I’ve heard a lot of rumblings,” she said. “We’ve heard from the senators that they are getting accolades from around the country and many other states are reaching out to them congratulating them on the work that they’re doing and thanking them for continuing the fight and staying in the fight. And I think that they realize the Senate was honest and real when they said, hey, we welcome any states to come look at this.”

This is good news indeed.

There were many allegations of election fraud in Pennsylvania. For starters, there were 202,377 more ballots cast than voters who voted statewide, and 170,830 more ballots cast than voters who voted in the presidential race.

Source: Pennsylvania State Rep. Russ Diamond’s website.

An organization called Audit the Vote PA, whose statistics I could not verify, presented some alarming irregularities including:

1,823,148 mail-in ballots were sent out and 2,589,242 were sent back

21,000 confirmed dead voters

Over 300,000 voter registrations removed from the SURE system after November 3

Canvassing effort in Montgomery County found 78,000 phantom votes

Over 10,000 people voted by mail whose ID doesn’t exist in the SURE system

Over 29,000 Duplicate Registrations

7,857 Registrations whose DOB changed in 2020

55,823 voters backfilled into the SURE system

15,000 mail-in ballots sent out of state

These are the same types of irregularities that have been reported in other swing states.

On November 25, 2020, a hearing was held before the Pennsylvania State Senate and President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, to hear the stories of election observers who had allegedly witnessed fraud over the course of their service. It’s 3.5 hours long. I actually watched the whole video at the time and found it riveting.

If you have time to listen to only one testimony, listen to Gregory Stentstrom whose testimony begins at 46:45 in the video below.

Kim Peterson: Philadelphia (testimony starts at 38:15)

Leah Hoopes: Delaware County (testimony starts at 40:50)

Black Panther in Tulsa: ‘Because that time will come … black Americans will kill everything white in sight’

May 31 marks 100 years since the atrocity known as the Tulsa Race Massacre occurred in the Greenwood district of Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to History.com:

At the turn of the 20th century, African Americans founded and developed the Greenwood district in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Built on what had formerly been Indian Territory, the community grew and flourished as a Black economic and cultural mecca—until May 31, 1921.

That’s when a white mob began a rampage through some 35 square blocks, decimating the community known proudly as “Black Wall Street.” Armed rioters, many deputized by local police, looted and burned down businesses, homes, schools, churches, a hospital, hotel, public library, newspaper offices and more. While the official death toll of the Tulsa race massacre was 36, historians estimate it may have been as high as 300. As many as 10,000 people were left homeless.

The incident stands as one most horrific acts of racial violence, and domestic terrorism, ever committed on American soil.

The National Black Power Convention was held this weekend in Tulsa to mark this sad chapter in history. According to local media outlet KTUL, the theme of this year’s convention is “Reparations Now!”

The group held a Second Amendment March for Reparations on Saturday. Hundreds of armed black activists marched though the Greenwood neighborhood shouting “Black Power.”

The organizers of the event issued a news release which read: “The struggle for Reparations must be escalated. We must fight on every front to achieve redress and Reparations for the atrocities committed upon Tulsa Massacre descendants; and we must intensify the fight to achieve Reparations for all 40-million Blacks still grossly affected by racism, inequality, wealth disparity, police brutality and the like. Tulsa will mark a new beginning in the upgraded fight for Reparations for Black people.”

Nick Bezzel, one of the event organizers, said, “We have to take a much stronger approach toward Reparations. We are tired of begging. Our ancestors deserve nothing less than our strongest efforts.”

In the second video below, a speaker tells the crowd, “Because that time will come when there’s a rat-a-tat-tat … black Americans will kill everything white in sight.”

(Please scroll down to view videos of the event.)

Slavery was a horrendous institution and the events that took place 100 years ago in Tulsa were heinous. No one is denying that.

Throughout history, untold atrocities have occurred and countless groups from all races have been wrongly and unfairly persecuted. Many people alive today have been touched by mindless violence and brutality. The Jews, perhaps most of all. But I don’t hear them demanding reparations from Germany for the Holocaust.

In February, members of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, met to consider H.R. 40, a bill introduced by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX).

The purpose of this legislation, according to Lee, is to establish a commission “to study and develop reparations proposals” for African-Americans.

“This commission will probe into the facts of the long-standing impact, the disparities that slavery brought about in this country. We still experience them today,” Jackson Lee told her colleagues. “The government sanctioned slavery and that is why we need a reckoning, a healing, reparative justice. We need to bring our nation together.”

The commission will also determine “if a national apology for slavery is in order.”

Radio host and conservative commentator Larry Elder and former NFL great Herschel Walker, both of whom oppose reparations, appeared as witnesses for the Republicans. Both made strong arguments against them. (Video below)

Walker told the committee, “America is the greatest country in the world for me, a melting pot of a lot of great races, a lot of great minds that have come together with different ideas to make Americans the greatest country on Earth. Many have died trying to get into America. No one is dying trying to get out.”

“Reparations, where does the money come from?” he asked. “Does it come from all the other races except the black taxpayers? Who is black? What percentage of black must you be to receive reparations? Do you go to 23 and Me or a DNA test to determine the percentage of blackness? Some American ancestors just came to this country 80 years ago, their ancestors wasn’t even here during slavery. Some black immigrants weren’t here during slavery, nor their ancestors. Some states didn’t even have slavery.”

“I asked my mom, who’s in her mid-80s, her thoughts on the issue prior to the hearing,” Walker said. “Her words: I do not believe in reparations. Who is the money gonna go to? Has anyone thought about paying the families who lost someone in the Civil War, who fought for their freedom? … If you give a man a fish, you feed him a day. You teach him to fish, you feed him a lifetime.”

The Black Panthers need to open their eyes and see that America has evolved over the last century. Frankly, I can’t think of another country in the world where blacks are presented with more opportunities for success. If they can, they ought to move there.

The greatest barrier to their success is their insistence that they are oppressed. Democrats have perpetuated this decades-old myth to keep blacks dependent upon them for their every need. In return for their “largesse” toward blacks, Democrats can count on their support at the ballot box.

Through their actions and words, Democrats have instilled in blacks the notion that they are helpless, and that the odds are stacked against them. Like all of the Democrat’s lies, it’s been repeated so often, many blacks firmly believe that no matter how hard they work, the system is rigged against them, and they will never get ahead.

It is this deeply ingrained belief that stands at the center of the racial divide in America today.

If a parent or a mentor tells a child, continually, that even if they persevere, it will make little difference, the child will have very little incentive to do so. And if that parent or mentor takes it further and says, “But don’t worry. I’ll always make sure you have everything you need,” what little motivation the child may have had will evaporate.

I posted about this in March after watching a powerful discussion between Fox News’ Mark Levin and Shelby Steele, a senior fellow at The Hoover Institution, who is black. Steele’s interview can be viewed here: Michelle Obama Gets it Terribly Wrong in Her Commencement Address and Exposes the Root of the Racial Divide.

Rather than dwelling on the atrocities of the past which keeps them stuck in permanent victimhood, blacks ought to remove their blinders so they might see the opportunities that are there for the taking.

KTUL reported that the following groups are leading the effort:

  • The Huey P Newton Gun Club (HPNGC)
  • The Elmer Geronimo Pratt Gun Club (EGPGC)
  • The New Black Panther Party for Self- Defense (NBPP)
  • The Fred Hampton Gun Club (FHGC)
  • The New Black Liberation Militia (NBLM)
  • The Panther Special Operations Command (PANSOC)
  • ANUBIS
  • Multiple other groups and private gun owners

What Happens If ‘The Big Lie’ Is Proven To Be ‘The Big Truth’?

So far, one million of the 2.1 million ballots cast in the Maricopa County, Arizona November 2020 presidential election have been examined in the Arizona state Senate-commissioned forensic audit. In other words, the Senators are likely getting a sense of whether the original election results will be upheld or if, as many Republicans believe, fraud occurred.

Unlike the cherry-picked leaks to the press we grew accustomed to during the Mueller investigation and Rep. Adam Schiff’s impeachment inquiry, we’re not hearing about what the auditors are finding. Occasional interviews with audit director Ken Bennett and periodic updates from Arizona GOP Chairwoman Kelli Ward tell us only about its progress and the latest attempts by the Democrats to end it.

Which leaves us trying to read the tea leaves.

On Friday, The Washington Examiner reported that the state Senate is considering a second “recount that would be entirely electronic, running digital images of ballots through a program to count all votes cast for every race on the county’s ballot, according to the Arizona Republic. Bennett told the outlet they are considering a California-based election transparency nonprofit group called Citizens Oversight for the job, and the results from both audits could be compared to one another.” (Note: The Arizona Republic article is locked behind a paywall.)

The Examiner reported:

Citizens Oversight founder Ray Lutz, 63, told the Arizona Republic this week his group has never been commissioned to audit an election, adding that the technology being pitched for the process has never been used for an official audit.

“I would say absolutely this is a grand test,” Lutz told the Arizona Republic. “I think it is certainly a big test for me because I have put a lot of work on it for the last year and a half or so. We have enhanced it to the point now where I believe we can do a lot to provide information about how well (this election) went.”

The second recount would not disrupt the current audit at the coliseum … because it would use digital images of each ballot

Why would the Senators deem a second audit necessary? Either the current audit is validating the original election results that were certified by the state of Arizona on November 30 or the team is finding evidence of foul play.

As I see it, if the ballots examined so far appeared to affirm the original results, they would simply complete the audit, announce that the election had been conducted freely and fairly and that President Joe Biden was the true winner.

If, on the other hand, the audit is revealing fraud on a scale large enough to overturn the election, the state Senators are well aware their conclusions will be intensely scrutinized and attacked by Democrats. Knowing that litigation would immediately follow, and riots and mayhem would erupt throughout the U.S., they would want to make their case as solid as possible.

Given the significance of the outcome, the state Senators are wise to verify the accuracy of their results with a second audit.

Considering that Biden won the state by only 10,457 votes, or 0.4 percent of the over 3.3 million cast, it wouldn’t take much to tip the state into President Donald Trump’s column.

If Trump were to prevail in Arizona, he would still remain seriously behind in the electoral vote count. The original result was 306 to 232. If Arizona turned red, the count would be 295 to 243.

However, if Arizona Republicans can prove decisively that fraud occurred in their election, other swing states would immediately embark on forensic audits.

An audit is currently underway in Georgia where numerous election irregularities have been alleged. Reportedly, a sample of 950 mail-in military ballots miraculously showed Biden had won 100 percent of them. I posted about that here: Crazytime: 950 Military Ballots in Georgia Audit Sample – 100 Percent Went to Biden.

If the Georgia election were overturned, the electoral vote margin would become 279 to 259.

There have been credible allegations of fraud in many other swing states won narrowly by Biden such as Pennsylvania, which has 19 electoral votes, Michigan with 15, Wisconsin 10, Nevada 6, and New Hampshire 4.

I’m not saying it would be easy to overturn the election. The litigation would likely last until the next presidential election.

I think we all need to brace ourselves for the possibility that the Maricopa County audit could very well turn up evidence of election fraud.

If this happens, the unrest that would surely follow could dwarf the George Floyd riots of last summer.

Crazytime: 950 Military Ballots in Georgia Audit Sample – 100 Percent Went to Biden

Steve Bannon spoke to John Fredericks, host of radio show “Outside the Beltway,” on Monday about the audit of 147,000 mail-in ballots cast in the state of Georgia during the November 2020 election.

Out of an analysis batch of 950 military ballots, Fredericks told Bannon, “Joe Biden got 950 votes, Trump zero. That’s 100 percent. That is virtually impossible.”

Fredericks said he’d had Georgia state Sen. Burt Jones as a guest on his show earlier and that Jones and a second state senator are now calling for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to get involved and work side by side with the forensic audit team.

Auditors are trying to determine if any of the ballots cast are counterfeit, he explained.

He noted that “six affidavits of veteran election officials are alleging that up to 30,000 of these 147,000 ballots are fake. Somebody printed them up on a machine and ran them through the vote counting machines.”

First, he tells Bannon, “they’re on different paper.”

Second, “they’re not folded.” These ballots are presumed to have come through the mail or from a dropbox making it inconceivable they haven’t been folded.

Third, “You’ve got the same exact bubble mark on the ballot – the same one for upwards of 30,000 ballots.”

Stunningly, “97 percent of them voting for Joe Biden, 97 percent voting for John Ossoff.”

Fourth, “the affidavits say that the bubble marks are not made by an ink pen or pencil, that they’re made by a machine. These are the things that they’re going to look at.”

Bannon laughs and Fredericks adds, “Not only that, but they were in sequential order. That means that every ballot that came in, in the mail is somehow in exact sequential order?”

Pivoting back to his earlier interview with Sen. Jones, Frederick said, “If Judge Amero [the judge who approved the audit to move forward] makes a declaratory judgement that counterfeit ballots were there, that some of them were counted twice, that’s the other possibility here, he’s going to demand that Gov. [Brian] Kemp call a special session and they’re going to start decertifying elections.”

In addition to the presidential race, these ballot anomalies may have affected down ballot races as well.

Fredericks pointed out that Sen. David Perdue, a Republican, may have won in the first ballot. (Perdue was required to win by a minimum of 2 percent in November in order to avoid the January 5 Georgia run-off. His margin of victory over his Democratic opponent, Jon Ossoff, wound up to be only 1.8 percent. Current Sen. Jon Ossoff prevailed in January by 1.2 percent, flipping the seat.)

Close House races and state House and Senate races were likely affected as well.

These are some pretty shocking revelations. Perhaps what is most astounding is, assuming this is all proven, that the fraudsters weren’t more careful. Absentee ballots in sequential order? Different paper? One hundred percent of the sample military ballots and 97 percent of the others going to Joe Biden?

It’s possible that they’d underestimated Trump’s strength and had to work very fast to make up the deficit.

At any rate, there were additional irregularities that took place on election night that were never satisfactorily explained.

Early on Election Night, it was reported that a pipe had burst at the State Farm Arena and that it would be necessary to stop counting the votes temporarily. It turned out that a urinal had overflowed early in the morning on Election Day.

We all remember the rather remarkable videos of election workers pulling several cases of ballots out from under a table with a tablecloth after the election supervisor had dismissed most of the workers on Election Night.

If ever there was a smoking gun, that video was one. No rational explanation was ever given for that episode. The news cycle simply moved on and it was forgotten.

Fran Watson. Where have we heard that name before?

Watson spoke to then-President Donald Trump on December 23 and briefed the deputy secretary of state, Jordan Fuchs, afterward.

Fuchs later misrepresented the phone call in a conversation with a Washington Post reporter who printed a story about the lies. It went viral.

When the Wall Street Journal published an audio recording of the call which revealed the actual words that had been said, The Post was forced to issue a rare and embarrassing correction.

For nearly three months, knowing that the original Washington Post story misquoted the President, Fran Watson and Jordan Fuchs remained silent. House Democrats even used the words Trump had not uttered in that phone call as evidence in his second impeachment trial.

The Trump legal team challenged thousands of votes they believed were fraudulent. Below is a list published by The Federalist.

  • 2,560 felons
  • 66,247 underage registrants
  • 2,423 people who were not on the state’s voter rolls
  • 4,926 voters who had registered in another state after they registered in Georgia, making them ineligible
  • 395 people who cast votes in another state for the same election
  • 15,700 voters who had filed national change of address forms without re-registering
  • 40,279 people who had moved counties without re-registering
  • 1,043 people who claimed the physical impossibility of a P.O. Box as their address
  • 98 people who registered after the deadline, and, among others
  • 10,315 people who were deceased on election day (8,718 of whom had been registered as dead before their votes were accepted)

Although anti-Trumpers inside the Georgia Secretary of State’s office have repeatedly tried to end speculation surrounding events that occurred at the Fulton County State Farm Arena ballot-counting center on Election Night, they’ve never completely succeeded.

I bet no one is more surprised about this latest turn of events than the secretary of state himself, Brad Raffensperger. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Black Activist Shot in the Head in London; Called for Revolution, Creation of Armed Black Militia, Abolishing the Police

Taking the Initiative Party (TTIP) leader Sasha Johnson was shot in the head early Sunday morning outside of a party in Southwark (south London), according to a Met Police report.

Johnson, 27, was taken to an area hospital at approximately 3 a.m. where she underwent surgery and remains in critical condition.

Although Johnson is identified as a member of the British Black Lives Matter chapter in numerous reports about this incident, she was not associated with the organization. Instead, she was on the leadership committee of TTIP, a separate anti-black racism activist group.

The Post Millennial’s Andy Ngo reported that Johnson “rose in prominence last year for her advocacy of the creation of an armed black militia, the abolishment of police & the overthrowing of capitalism.”

Ngo provides a example of Johnson ginning up a crowd on a London street in the video below.

She tells her supporters: “Racism thrives on capitalism. The back of racism is capitalism. … We need a black militia. … The police is no different than the KKK. They stand around and protect statues and buildings instead of people. … All together, put your fist in the air. Black power. Don’t ever be scared to say, it doesn’t mean that you hate another race and anybody that say that you hate them too have hidden racism. They’re scared of your blackness. Black is beautiful. …”

Charming young woman.

In a statement to the BBC, TTIP said Johnson had received “numerous death threats.”

Imarn Ayton, a friend of Ms Johnson’s, spoke to the BBC. She said the surgery had gone well and that Johnson was “now with her parents.”

Ayton told the BBC she did not believe Johnson “was the intended victim. … As far as I am aware, this incident is more related to rival gangs as opposed to her activism.”

BLMUK reacted to this shooting on Twitter: “BLMUK expresses our shock and solidarity over the shooting of Sasha Johnson. A young mother and fearless political campaigner who was at the forefront of many BLM protests last summer. … While Sasha wasn’t part of our organisation, she impressively founded a new Black-led political party and was dedicated to resist anti-Black racism.”

The group announced a vigil had been set for the next day and said, “Any attempt to intimidate or silence her, is an attack on all of us.”

Detective Chief Inspector Jimi Tele said: “We are all hoping that this young woman’s condition improves. Our investigation is in its early stages and urgent enquiries are under way to establish the circumstances.

“I would appeal to the residents of Consort Road and the surrounding area to check any doorbell or dashcam footage for any suspicious activity that may relate to this investigation.”

Considering one of Johnson’s goals is the abolishment of the police, does she even want them to carry out an investigation to find the shooter?
