Police were called to the parking lot of what looks to be an apartment building in Washington, D.C.
A black man called out to one of the officers, “Are, y’all gonna kill me like Ma’Khia Bryant? F**k.”
The officer (who is black) replies, “Are you gonna stab somebody like her?”
The agitator was stunned by the officer’s clever comeback and said, “No. She, but she called y’all for help. F**k is you talking about? Get your goofy a–, I can’t. And you just said that on camera! This sh*t going viral! This…”
Officer, “That’s fine.”
Well done, officer!
LOOK AT THIS!
Agitator: “Are y’all gonna kill me like Ma’Khia Bryant?”
If you have a degree in sociology, psychology or gender studies, it’s not my fault. This isn’t a knock on your choice. I know how it feels to waste my own money, personally carrying around a degree in philosophy. I told myself I would continue on to law school, but the new ‘lottery’ (apologies to Shirley Jackson) draft system and my amazingly low draft number altered my plans.
Imagine my surprise when reading the news today and stumbling across an article that details just exactly how I, specifically as a white person, am supposed to behave in public when visiting the newly erected shrine dedicated to George Floyd; a drug addict and thug who had a violent criminal history. I am so glad that some woke social studies major got that figured out. I just hate not knowing how to act.
What would I do if I found myself in George Floyd Square, previously known as the intersection of 38th Street and Chicago, and didn’t conform to dictatedexpected behaviors?
Now I can go and visit that hallowed ground and do exactly what the rioters, BLM racists and socially woke, useful idiots want me to do.
Mr. Narrator (interrupts): “Richard Edward, stop! You are being disrespectful to the memory of George Floyd. People are trying to build a shrine to the memory of a hero, a man who sacrificed his life on the altar of justice. Crazy Nancy said so just a couple of days ago and you know you can’t tell her she is wrong.”
Richard Edward: “What? (don’t you just hate being surprised all of the time?) Shrine to? Social justice warrior? I read in an article by my colleague Elizabeth Vaughn that he was high on fentanyl at the time of his arrest. He told the officers “I can’t breathe” and repeated “put me on the ground” several times before he was placed on the ground during his apprehension. You sure we’re talking about the same dude?”
Mr. Narrator: “Yes, Richard Edward. That was George Floyd in life. In death, he has been given an entirely different biography. In life, he was just another drug-addled thug in Minneapolis who resisted arrest for his latest suspected crime; but in death, he has become a civil rights icon, more than worthy of your obsequious genuflecting. The woke graduate sociology majors have declared it so.”
Wow, is there anything a liberal arts degree can’t do? Rewrite history? Dictate your behavior in public places, especially according to your race? Tell millions of your neighbors how to think and feel about current events? I never understood that the possession of a degree in social studies, sociology or any other of the ‘Liberal Artx’ would hold the answer to all of the world’s conundrums.
Mr. Narrator: “Don’t be snarky, Richard Edward. These folks are serious. White people need to be told how to act in a place of worship. Here, let me show you what is required of you if you visit. Newsmax captured the woke folk’s instructions in a nifty little list:
White guests need to “decenter” and “come to listen, learn, mourn, and witness.”
“Remember you are here to support, not to be supported,” the sign instructs.
White people are then asked to “contribute to the energy of the space, rather than drain it.”
Any “processing” must be brought to “other white folks” so that “BIPOC” (an acronym for “Black and Indigenous people of color”) are not harmed….
Richard Edward: “Well, that does it. I am going to plan my trip to George Floyd Square right away. But before I go, I’ll first need to decipher the social justice warriors’ instructions to ensure my behavior will be acceptable to their hall-monitors, whom I am sure will be on duty, cell phone cameras at the ready. These instructions are so wonderfully today’s pop psychology, I am positive they were written by recent graduates from any woke, ivy league school.”
“Mr. Narrator, do you know where I can go to find out how to ‘decenter’? This is important to me. My balance isn’t as good as it used to be, so any ‘decentering’ might have significantly adverse effects on my health and ability to stand upright. If I can’t stand up right, how can I follow the rest of their instructions?”
“Support? I love being a support. That’s something I can get right without any homework. I’ve raised and supported a family, been married four times and thus clearly understand the true meaning of support. Heck, I once single-handedly held up a section of fence until the last post was installed. I can easily go to the location of the Great Fentanyl Incident and hand-out money, along with my deepest personally sympathy, to the race grifters who will inevitably inhabit the sidewalks of said intersection.”
“Be a contributor? You bet. Didn’t I already say I’ve been married four times?”
“Keep my processing to myself or folks of my own race? (So much for reaching out to others.) I guess I can support and contribute to those in the George Floyd matrix without letting it upset me to the point where I become triggered and need to run off, screaming for my safe space. Processing? Well, I used to work in the tech industry and can understand a little about processing, so I guess I’ll be alright with that one, too.”
“I can do this trip, Mr. Narrator. I can make the hajj to George Floyd Square and prostrate myself before the alter of wokeness, asking for forgiveness for being a white, law-abiding citizen; one whose expectations used to be only to ‘treat others as I would like to be treated.’ That life approach is so passé.”
Mr. Narrator: “Richard Edward, I knew you would get it. There is hope for you to fit somewhere towards the bottom of the new woke, world order. We are so lucky that the sociology majors of the world have shown you your path to redemption.”
If you think that having a Liberal Artx degree and a holier than thou attitude does/doesn’t give one the right to dictate other’s behavior, please make a comment and let Richard Edward and Mr. Narrator know your thoughts.
At 4:32 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, a caller told Columbus, Ohio police that “females were there trying to stab them and put their hands on them,” Columbus Interim Police Chief Michael Woods informed reporters on Tuesday night.
Police arrived to the scene twelve minutes later and body camera footage of the officer who eventually shot the girl shows him approaching several people in the driveway of a suburban home. (A video of this footage along with a recording of the news conference is provided below.)
Sixteen-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant is seen attempting to stab another girl who then falls to the ground. It’s not clear if she had been injured.
As the officer advances, he shouts, “Hey, hey, hey, hey, Get down!” His footage shows Bryant, still holding the knife, moving toward a second girl.
The officer shouts, “Get Down! Get down! Get down! Get down!” He fires four shots at Bryant.
According to ABC News, Bryant was transported to the hospital in critical condition and “pronounced dead just before 5:30 p.m.”
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation quickly began a probe into the incident as is protocol for any police-involved shooting.
Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther issued the following statement on Tuesday evening and spoke at the news conference held afterward.
— as they do with all CPD-involved shootings. We will share information that we can as soon as it becomes available. I’m asking for residents to remain calm and allow BCI to gather the facts.
Ginther told reporters, “We know based on this footage, the officer took action to protect another young girl in our community. … But a family is grieving tonight and this young 15-year-old girl will never be coming home.”
(Note: Police initially reported that Ma’Khia was 15-years-old. According to ABC News, Franklin County Children Services later said she was 16.)
Woods said the officer had been taken “off the street” until all of the investigations and reviews are completed.
According to a February report in the The Columbus Dispatch, “a new study shows Franklin County has one of the highest rates of fatal law enforcement shootings in Ohio and is among the highest in the nation.”
This incident happened shortly before a jury convicted former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin on all charges against him.
Predictably, Black Lives Matter and the media quickly sprung into action. The Columbus Dispatch reported:
Protesters with Black Lives Matter signs, megaphones and a loudspeaker joined the crowd gathered behind crime scene tape about a half-block away from the shooting scene. About 50 people had gathered by 8:30 p.m.
“We don’t get to celebrate nothing,” K.C. Taynor said through a megaphone of the Chauvin verdict. “…In the end, you know what, you can’t be Black.”
Kiara Yakita, founder of the Black Liberation Movement Central Ohio, said she is not surprised that another police shooting happened. “Why did they kill this baby?” she asked aloud.
Mike Fair, 63, of the East Side, brought an amplifier and a microphone to the scene, and expressed his anger, suggesting “there should be an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.”
None of us know exactly what happened on Tuesday afternoon. Nor do we know anything about the events that led to Bryant’s death. The officer’s body camera footage shows Bryant, “the baby,” trying to stab two girls with a knife.
Based on the initial call to the police, she had tried to stab others. We have no idea what took place in the twelve minutes before the police arrived. But she was still holding the knife when they arrived, so no one had been able to subdue her in between.
Additionally, the caller said “females” – plural. Was there another young woman with a knife?
But, who needs facts? Much better to rush in, Al Sharpton-style.
With the George Floyd case now concluded (at least for the time being), the left will need a new victim to fill the void. Will it be Ma’Khia Bryant?
Would any sane American sign up to be a cop in this political climate?
Hillary Clinton expressed sadness over the death of Adam Toledo, “another child killed by police.” Yes, Hillary, a child who was affectionately remembered by his pals from the gang with two heartwarming nicknames, ‘Lil’ Homicide’ and ‘Bvby Diablo’. A child who was armed with a gun and playing a deadly game in the middle of the night in a dangerous city.
Another child killed by police.
Another community mourning victims of a mass shooting.
Going to work, walking in the street, or being Black, Latino, or Asian American should not be a death sentence.
Here’s how a writer from The Independent portrayed Adam Toledo. “Toledo was a child in crisis who needed support from his community, not a criminal mastermind or a gang leader. He was an at-risk youth who could have been introduced to programs, to therapy, to help. As a society, we are supposed to acknowledge this: He was well below the age of criminal responsibility. Instead, he was robbed of the chance to turn his life around before it even really started.”
“Adam will never get to go to prom, to go to high school, to know the small joys of growing up,” she adds. “He was just a baby who got involved with a bad crowd. And he wasn’t afforded the benefit of the doubt.”
Yup, that’s all. Pretty soon, he’ll be inducted into the George Floyd Hall of Fame, right after Daunte Wright.
Liberals are tying themselves up in knots trying to spin this story to fit their narrative. Below, The Washington Examiner’s Jerry Dunleavy shares a video which shows how CBS News “edited” out the edges of the police officer’s footage, thus, viewers would not see the gun in Toledo’s hand.
Full video here. *At best*, CBS News looked at an explosive issue like a controversial police shooting & prioritized mobile screen viewing optimization over showing the full body camera footage (and thus edited out a key fact leading up to the shooting).https://t.co/b1P814LGjN
Liberals are casting blame on the police officer who was doing his job.
On Thursday, the Chicago Police Department released a photo with “an arrow pointing to what appeared to be a handgun in Toledo’s right hand before Stillman opened fire” according to report in Reuters. The caption said, “838 milliseconds between gun shown in hand and single shot.”
John Catanzara, president of the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police, told CNN’s Chris Cuomo that “the officer had only eight-tenths of a second to make the decision whether to shoot and his actions were justified.”
None of that will stop the liberals who will continue to beat the drum for gun control legislation.
The police shooting in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, of a black man, Daunte Wright, last Sunday sparked a new round of calls from Democrats for defunding the police.
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chair Rep. Sean Maloney of New York joined MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Friday morning and was asked if Democrats support “defunding the police.” Maloney repeatedly evaded the question telling Scarborough, “My argument is what are you doing about racial justice? Our party is going to do something about it.”
“Forgive me for repeating the same question. Maybe I need to say it a different way.” Scarborough asked, “Do Democrats support defunding the police first of all? And secondly, the Cook Political report said that Democrats lost 25 of 25 contested House races in 2020. And I think most analysts believe that, at least in the House races, Democrats badly underperformed expectations. So, again, address those two again and if you could specifically answer the question. Again, it’s not the question I’m asking. It’s a question Republicans will continue to ask: Do Democrats support defunding the police?”
“Right. The answer is no and you are asking the question and you are repeating a Republican talking point for reasons I don’t know,” clearly not happy to have answered.
Scarborough dug in. “You guys did a damn poor job of answering that, such a poor job of answering socialism questions, such a poor job about answering cancel culture questions. That’s why I’m repeating it. Because if you believe that Kevin McCarthy should be Speaker of the House, keep pretending that none of that happened. And keep pretending that the House did a good job in 2020, because they did not. House Democrats did a poor job. So my question is are you going into 2022 with eyes wide open?”
“Right, so as my friend Maxine Waters said to Jim Jordan, ‘You’re ranting again,’ Maloney said chuckling. A stupid joke that deserved to fall flat.
Scarborough, who was most definitely not amused, told Maloney, “If you don’t really care whether Democrats win or not in 2022, okay, let our viewers know that.”
“The answer to the question is that Kevin McCarthy is the minority leader and we hold the gavels, Joe,” replied Maloney.
Continuing, Maloney said, “Can we learn from 2020? You bet. You didn’t hear me say everything went well, what I told you is I’m not going to run the other way because on shows like this you insist on repeating these Republican talking points when you know it’s a lie that we want to defund the police. Look at the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.”
“If your point is that we need to communicate better, well fair enough. But do me a favor, please also acknowledge that when you echo and amplify these talking points of the Republican Party, you give them life,” Maloney concluded.
Scarborough said, “I don’t need that reminder.”
I rarely take Scarborough’s side on anything. But Maloney is wrong. Many Democrats have called for defunding the police. And the chorus grows after each police shooting. AOC led the calls to abolish the police, saying it was “an indefensible system.”
Within hours of the Daunte Wright shooting, Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib tweeted, “It wasn’t an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist. Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder. No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed.”
Even Democrats believe this position hurt the party in 2020. In a recent interview with Bill Kristol, Democratic strategist James Carville said, “I mean, this defund the police was just a terrible drag on the Democratic Party. It really was. Don’t kid yourself.”
Defunding the police was one of the Democrats’ more extreme positions ahead of the 2020 elections. It could be among their most moderate going into 2022, as the party embraces truly radical positions like open borders, stacking the court, adding two states, eliminating the use of fossil fuels and abolishing the electoral college so that elections can be decided by New York and California, to name a few.
Democrats know they’re likely to lose the House and the Senate majorities in 2022, so they’re going to ram as much of their radical agenda through while they can. But Maloney is kidding himself if he truly believes that Democratic support for defunding the police is just a Republican talking point.
Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon told reporters at a Monday news conference that the officer, Kimberly Potter, meant to draw her Taser, and accidentally drew her handgun instead. He called the shooting an “accidental discharge.”
According to the Pioneer Press, Gannon released police bodycam footage which shows Potter shouting “I’ll Tase you! I’ll Tase you! Taser! Taser! Taser!”
She draws her weapon after the man breaks free from police outside his car and gets back behind the wheel.
“After firing a single shot from her handgun, the car speeds away, and the officer is heard saying, “Holy (sh**)! I shot him.”
It was a tragic accident. Officer Potter, 48, is a 26-year veteran with the Brooklyn Center Police Department.
I don’t doubt for a moment that Wright’s death, as sad as it is, was caused by human error.
Potter had nothing to gain, and everything to lose, by shooting Wright. She was stunned after the gun discharged. This was not something she had planned. Why would she?
Brooklyn Center is a suburb of Minneapolis, an area that is currently bracing for the verdict in the Derek Chauvin murder trial. This shooting, needless to say, immediately set off a series of protests/riots.
Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a Democrat, doesn’t believe it was an accident and immediately took to Twitter on Monday night to say so. In the following tweet, Tlaib writes: “It wasn’t an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist. … Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder. … No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed.”
It wasn't an accident. Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist.
Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government funded murder.
No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can't be reformed.
There are so many things wrong with Tlaib’s remarks. Why is a member of the U.S. Congress making such incendiary public statements, especially when the area is already a powder keg?
The city of Minneapolis, ground zero for the riots sparked by the death of George Floyd last summer which quickly spread throughout the country, is on edge. Daunte Wright’s death has exacerbated the situation. It has already set off rioting in Brooklyn Center. The slightest provocation is all that’s required to set off more destruction and chaos.
And Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib feels it’s appropriate to call for what really amounts to anarchy. What else would one call a situation with no police and no prisons?
Okay, smart one, why don’t we start with the Capitol building. Let’s eliminate the Capitol police, the inner perimeter fence, and the National Guard troops. Let’s free all of the “domestic terrorists” who are languishing in jails for their roles in what you call “the insurrection.”
In early February, Tlaib gave a tearful speech on the House floor about the frightening death threats she claims she’s been receiving since she took office. In the video below, she says she receives so many that she can’t keep track. She has a whole binder full of head shots of individuals she and her staff need to look out for. She was alerted to at least one of them by the FBI.
“On my very first day of orientation, I got my first death threat,” she told her colleagues. Oh, was that the day she told reporters, “We’re going to impeach the ‘motherf***er,” a reference to then-President Donald Trump?
