After Brooklyn Center police stopped Daunte Wright on Sunday because his license plate had expired, they discovered there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest on first degree aggravated robbery charges. He had allegedly pointed a gun at and choked a woman – twice – to force her to hand over “$820 in cash she had tucked into her bra.
According to Hennepin County District Court records (shown below), Wright and another male, Emajay Driver, “an acquaintance from high school,” had gone over to the home of two women to party on November 30, 2019. At 2:30 a.m. on December 1, the women asked them to leave. Claiming they didn’t have a ride, the women said they could sleep on the floor.
(The women are referred to as “Victim” and “Witness”.)
The next morning, Witness went to the bank to withdraw $820 to pay Victim rent. She returned to the house and gave the money to Victim, who tucked it into her bra. Witness left for work. In the meantime, Wright and Driver had found someone to pick them up.
Victim heard Wright tell Driver that he had the day off and that they should “hit some stains” which she knew was slang for “robbing people.”
The document states that, “The three of them were walking to the door to exit the apartment and defendant Wright turned around and blocked the door preventing Victim from leaving. Defendant Wright then pulled a black handgun with silver trim out from either his right waistband or his right coat pocket and pointed it at Victim and demanded the rent money.”
‘Victim said “Are you serious?” Defendant Wright replied: “Give me the f**king money, I know you have it.”
Victim asks a second time if he was serious. Wright allegedly said, “I’m not playing around.”
“The $820 cash was tucked in the Victim’s bra and defendant Wright placed his hand around Victim’s neck and choked her while trying to pull the cash from under her bra.”
“Victim was able to get loose from defendant Wright and started to kneel down and scream.”
Wright allegedly told the Victim that he would shoot her unless she gave him the money.
“Give me the money and we will leave, Give me the money and we will go,” Wright allegedly said.
“Defendant Wright then tried to choke Victim a second time and tried to take her money. Defendant Driver was telling her to give defendant Wright the money. Defendant Driver then said, “Let’s go,” and the two defendants left and got into a white Cadillac and left the scene.”
After they had left, the Victim realized she still had her cash.
According to documents obtained by Fox News, Wright was arrested and released on $100,000 bail. ”
As a condition of his release, he was not to have contact with the Victim or the Witness, had to refrain from drugs and alcohol, and could not possess a firearm.”
In July, his bail was revoked for alleged possession of a firearm and for his failure to maintain contact with his probation officer.
Keep this in mind as the media lifts him into sainthood.
