Biden Fails to Recognize D-Day, Tweets About 1921 Tulsa Massacre Instead

Sunday, June 6, was the 77th anniversary of D-Day, the most significant date in the history of World War II. The Allied invasion of Normandy was the largest amphibious assault ever carried out. It marked the start of the two month long Battle of Normandy which ultimately liberated France from the German occupation.

Historians have calculated the number of confirmed Allied fatalities on that first day alone to be 4,415, according to the National D-Day Memorial. Total Allied casualties are estimated at nearly 10,000. Codenamed “Operation Overlord,” the D-Day landing involved “over 5,000 ships, 11,000 airplanes, and over 150,000 service men.”

Allied heads of state have traditionally marked this day of remembrance by honoring the brave men who sacrificed so much on the shores of Normandy so that we may enjoy freedom today.

Two years ago, then-President Donald Trump delivered one of the most powerful speeches of his presidency on the anniversary of D-Day. He even drew praise from critics such as MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and CNN’s Jim Acosta.

Not so for President Joe Biden, who neglected to acknowledge the momentous occasion at all. Instead, he chose to pay tribute to the survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Massacre.

My intention is not to minimize the atrocity which occurred on May 31, 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It is arguably the single most tragic day in the history of racial violence in the U.S. I posted about the National Black Power Convention held last weekend in Tulsa to mark this sad chapter in history here.

For those who may be unfamiliar with this event, in the early 1900s, a large number of African Americans settled in the Greenwood district of Tulsa.

According to History.com, the neighborhood “grew and flourished as a Black economic and cultural mecca—until May 31, 1921. That’s when a white mob began a rampage through some 35 square blocks, decimating the community known proudly as ‘Black Wall Street.’ Armed rioters, many deputized by local police, looted and burned down businesses, homes, schools, churches, a hospital, hotel, public library, newspaper offices and more. While the official death toll of the Tulsa race massacre was 36, historians estimate it may have been as high as 300. As many as 10,000 people were left homeless.”

The events that took place 100 years ago in Tulsa were heinous. No one is denying that.

But Biden had already acknowledged the anniversary. He traveled to Tulsa last Tuesday to commemorate the occasion.

He spoke to survivors. His comments ranged from the ludicrous to the downright dangerous. Please read my post “Biden Managed a Trifecta of Stupid in His Tulsa Massacre Speech” to see for yourself just how disturbing his remarks really were.

The Tulsa Massacre anniversary rated a trip to Oklahoma, but the memory of D-Day, a date that changed the course of world history, didn’t elicit even a mention from the President of the United States.

Biden’s failure to recognize D-Day tells us, and our foreign adversaries, a lot about his and his administration’s priorities.

During his speech last week in Tulsa, Biden said, “According to the intelligence community, terrorism from white supremacy is the most lethal threat to the homeland today. Not ISIS, not Al Qaeda, white supremacy. That’s not me. That’s the intelligence community.”

On Sunday night, former Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, now a Fox News contributor, concluded his new Fox News program by posing a question to those who can’t answer, those who sacrificed their lives on D-Day. A visibly emotionally Gowdy asked: “Was it worth it?”

“Was it worth it to the men and the women who were killed serving, protecting and defending this country?, Gowdy asked. ” … You might frame the question differently, you may ask, ‘Are we worth it?’ Are we now, as a country, what you sacrificed for us to be? Are we worth, as a country, worth what you gave up? … ”

He continued: “I do wonder sometimes what those women and men who died on behalf of this country would say. … When we reflect on the state of our politics, was it worth dying for? When we reflect on what has become of our first amendment, was it worth losing your life over? When we reflect on the divisions in our country, these divisions that seem so intractable at times, was it worth dying for? … ”

“Have we become the country you imagined we would be when you fought and fell for us? Is this the America you dreamed of when you were taking your last breath? … ”

If you were an eighteen-year-old boy traveling aboard a “Higgins boat” headed for Normandy, nauseous from the rough seas, frightened out of your mind because you knew you might lose your life in the next few hours, would it be worth it?

Perhaps five months ago, when we had a patriotic president who loved America, the answer might have been yes. But what if they were shown a clip of Biden or House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spewing their stupidity? Desperately trying to take away our liberties for the sake of political power? Or Dr. Anthony Fauci conspiring with his cronies in the world scientific community to turn the lab leak theory into a conspiracy theory? What if they were shown a clip of Rep. Adam Schiff trying to impeach a president over what he knew to be lies? What would they think about H.R. 1, the Democrats’ latest attempt to consolidate power for years to come?

The answer might be no. Because they would see that the most dangerous threat America faces today is our own government.

Will Biden Accept Xi Jinping’s Olive Branch or Will He Put America First?

It appears that Chinese President Xi Jinping feels the chill.

Did it finally dawn on him that other countries got a little ruffled after China unleashed a pandemic on the world and then lied about it? They also got a little touchy when China sent an aircraft carrier task group and warplanes to simulate a siege on their mutual ally, Taiwan, in April and then forced an overhaul of Hong Kong’s electoral system. Perhaps they’re also upset about the human rights abuses against the Uyghurs and, of course, the theft of their valuable intellectual property.

And about a thousand other reasons.

Chinese state media outlet Xinhua News Agency reported that Xi would now like to project a “credible, lovable and respectable China” to the world.

In what the South China Morning Post called a “study session of the Politburo,” Xi told senior leaders the country needs to “make friends extensively, unite the majority and continuously expand its circle of friends with those who understand and are friendly to China.”

The Post acknowledges that “negative perceptions of China [are] at record high levels in many parts of the world” and says the Chinese President hopes “to repair the country’s coronavirus-hit image and win a battle of narratives with the US and its allies.”

The BBC reported that Xi called on the Communist Party news agencies to send the message that the government wanted “nothing but the Chinese people’s happiness and good fortune.”

The article noted that Xi’s remarks amount to a “rare admission of Beijing’s isolation.”

Perhaps the fact that the world has now opened their eyes to the lab leak theory has something to do with it. Because it may be impossible to ever prove that COVID originated from the lab at the Wuhan Institute of Virology without China’s cooperation, their refusal to provide that information should prevent any country from trusting them again.

Does Xi believe that the world will instantly put aside the tremendous damage that China has caused in the last year and a half and the belligerence with which they have acted? Unfortunately, as far as the spineless, conflicted President Joe Biden is concerned, he may be right.

It will be hard to forget the defiant and cutting tone of the Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian in the early months of the pandemic. Zhao was behind the conspiracy theory that the virus was brought to Wuhan by the U.S. Army when 300 soldiers traveled there in mid-October 2019 for the Military World Games. On March 12, 2020, Zhao sent the following tweet:

Or his sarcastic successor, Hua Chunying. Below, she taunts a State Department official on Twitter with a reference to George Floyd.

Or the unbelievably undiplomatic treatment of U.S. diplomats at the March meeting in Alaska by the Chinese Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Yang Jiechi.

Or top Chinese General Xu Qiliang’s refusal to acknowledge Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s three attempts to contact him in May.

The international friendships Xi claims to seek should only be possible after some form of amends. Perhaps some ownership of the pandemic, for starters.

However, some nations, dependent on China for trade, may accept his olive branch. Other nations, with weak, possibly compromised leaders like Joe Biden might also fall in line.

This is precisely the type of situation that many of us had feared prior to the election. We were concerned that his son’s, his brother James’ and possibly his own past business dealings with China would prevent him from putting America’s interests first, making him a national security risk.

Will Biden give China a pass? Unfortunately, he might.

Putin, Lavrov to Biden: Sure We’ll Talk About Human Rights: Let’s Start With the Jan. 6 Rioters

President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a summit in Geneva, Switzerland on June 16.

During a Memorial Day Service at Veterans Memorial Park in Wilmington, Delaware on Sunday, Biden pledged that he would press his Russian counterpart on human rights issues.

Biden said, “I’m meeting with President Putin in a couple weeks in Geneva making it clear we will not, we will not stand by and let him abuse those rights,” according to Reuters.

On Monday, Agence France Presse reported that Putin and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are delighted to discuss human rights issues with the American president. They plan to question Biden about the rights of the Jan. 6 Capitol rioters, some of whom still remain incarcerated.

Speaking to reporters, Lavrov said, “Of course, we will be ready to discuss everything, including problems that exist in the United States.”

He said, “Putin could raise the January 6 protests in support of Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump.” Lavrov noted that the Russian government was monitoring the “persecution” of the Jan. 6 protestors and the “protection of opposition rights” in the U.S. “A lot of interesting things are happening there.”

A good day for Biden is being able to read a speech off of a teleprompter without a serious blunder.

I don’t think he’s capable of matching wits with Vladimir Putin.

Aside from his waning cognitive abilities, Biden fails to grasp that he has lost the moral high ground. For over four months, he and his party have ignored the Constitution and stomped all over the Bill of Rights. He doesn’t get to lecture Putin about human rights.

The Democrats’ portrayal of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot as an insurrection and the FBI’s subsequent overzealous efforts to hunt down those who “stormed the Capitol” with unwarranted and often dramatic arrests to bolster their false narrative is seen clearly by the rest of the world. Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, in particular, recognize authoritarian tactics when they see them.

The Department of Justice told CBS News that as of May 6, there had been 440 arrests and they were planning 100 more. According to CBS:

More than 125 defendants have been charged with assaulting, resisting or impeding officers or employees, and at least 35 of those were charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon, the Department of Justice said. About 140 officers were assaulted during the attack, according to a Justice Department spokesperson.

More than 350 were charged with entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds, and more than 35 were charged with entering the Capitol with a dangerous or deadly weapon, the spokesperson said.

Just as Chinese diplomats proved that China had neither fear nor respect for Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his team at their March talks in Alaska, Putin will show he has neither fear nor respect for Biden when the two meet in Geneva.

Putin intends to humiliate Biden at this meeting just as he did the last time they met. The occasion was Biden’s 2011 state visit to Moscow.

This little known episode was not reported by the press at the time. Most of us only learned about it after former White House stenographer Mike McCormick published a book about his six years (2011-2017) spent at Biden’s side as he met with world leaders, delivered speeches and interacted with members of the media. The book is entitled “Joe Biden Unauthorized: And the 2020 Crackup of the Democratic Party.”

It’s important to remember that, contrary to Biden’s current frail condition, he was at the top of his game in 2011. But even in his prime, Biden was never considered a formidable or even a particularly strong leader. Putin’s lack of respect for the U.S. Vice President was unmistakable, even then.

Ahead of the meeting, McCormick notes that Biden’s staffers had “made a big deal about how Putin really dominated the conversation [with] Obama” during his visit to Russia. They were sure that Biden, because of his “decades of Senate foreign policy experience,” would never allow that to happen.

During a joint news conference with Putin, Biden “launched into a soliloquy about his visits to Russia during the Cold War,” McCormick told The Free Beacon. Suddenly, Biden’s microphone was cut off. Then “the press lighting was switched off, and Putin’s aides ushered the media out of the room.”

Biden was saying, “I’ve been around a long time. The first time I was here…”

“And… cut.”

“Joe Biden got about one sentence further into that spiel when off went his microphone, off went the lights for the TV cameras, and stern Russian voices were commanding the press to leave. And leave they did,” McCormick wrote in a March article about the incident.

He added, “They went out quickly and efficiently, with videocameras popping off of tripods. Equipment snapping shut. Portable lights clattering down retractable poles. No one spoke, and no one dared linger.”

Putin had “publicly humiliated” Biden.

“He basically got body-slammed by Putin, really. I mean, I don’t know how else to describe it,” McCormick told the Beacon. “To me it was like, here’s our great foreign policy expert and he just got punk’d. And Vladimir Putin just had no fear or respect for him.”

Unsurprisingly, news of this very public, very deliberate indignity “never made it into media coverage of the trip.”

Recounting this moment in his book, McCormick wrote: “[Putin’s] message was unmistakable: I’m in charge of the room, I’m in charge of my country, and I’m in charge of the reset. As you might imagine, the vice president’s staffers were furious with the Russians. I was instructed to have the transcript reflect how the vice president had been cut off in mid-sentence.”

The official White House transcript reads: “VICE PRESIDENT BIDEN: There’s a reason, Mr. Prime Minister. Mr. Prime Minister, I’ve been around a long time. The first time I was here — the second time I was here, I was meeting with President Brezhnev. We were trying to pass SALT II — END”

McCormick described the scene in the immediate aftermath of the snub in his article. “This was Putin in all his KGB ruthlessness. Whether by some prearranged signal or simply an undisclosed time limit, he had pulled the plug and done the unthinkable: he’d stolen Joe Biden’s audience and rendered him speechless. Shut him down in mid-sentence with the flick of an invisible switch.”

“Across the table,” he wrote, “I could see Vice President of the United States Joe Biden, in the now dimly lit room, looking as duped as an exhausted fish in the bottom of a boat. No protest, no complaint. No, hey, I wasn’t finished. Nothing. He was humiliated.”

“To me, the revelation was the premeditated precision of the snub. Putin or his team had likely plotted this all out. They knew exactly what bait to use, exactly how Joe Biden would take it, and then when he did, they reeled him helplessly in.”

“The most powerful man in Russia had neither fear nor respect for Joe Biden. He had just played with him for sport.”

Ten years have past. The two will be together on the world stage. Biden is much diminished and Putin is as sharp as ever.

I don’t imagine this will end well.

Man Poses as Pro-Hamas Activist on College Campus; Finds Overwhelming Support Among Students

Ami Horowitz is most definitely a conservative. He is known for conducting “man on the street” interviews to gauge public sentiment on the issues of the day.

Horowitz, a modern Orthodox Jew, traveled to Portland State University in deep blue Portland, Oregon, to film his most recent video, “Watch me raise money for Hamas to kill Jews.”

Posing as a pro-Hamas activist, he approaches students, tells them he’s seeking donations to destroy Israel and the students, amazingly, are completely receptive. They tell Horowitz: “Okay awesome!” and “Hey good luck.”

In the brief course of the video, he explains to numerous students that: “We’re raising money for American Friends of Hamas. … We’re not your father’s terrorist organization. We’ve kind of evolved beyond that. … We’ve kind of rebuilt and rebranded ourselves.”

“Hamas is where it’s at. We’re raising money to do what we do as Hamas. We want to fund operations against Israel,” Horowitz tells a pair of students. “The types of attacks we’re talking about are – cafes and schools, you know, soft targets. … Make em feel it.”

To others, he adds, “Hospitals … Shopping malls … Civilian populations … Places of worship. This is the kind of stuff we’re talking about.” They understand completely.

“This is the only way you can fight back really. Suicide bombers are all we’ve got. It’s the poor man’s F-15.”

“Right, right,” replies a student.

“We’re essentially the logical extension of BDS. It’s like BDS, the next level, that’s what we’re doing. We’re like BDS plus.” Heads nod in complete approval.

“We’re looking to wipe Israel off the map. We’re looking to destroy Israel. We don’t want just Gaza. We want to have all of Israel,” Horowitz says.

The student totally gets it because, “I’ve actually been learning about it, in this last school year, about everything that’s going on over there. I like the sound of what you’re doing. It sounds like a great thing to do.”

“We just want to get rid of Israel. It’s for the Palestinians. … If you feel like donating to help the cause, that’d be great.”

“Definitely,” the student answers.

“This is all about peace and love. We’ve got to fight back against the oppressors. To get peace, you’ve first got to destroy some stuff, you know.”

They know.

Each of the students Horowitz spoke to were completely on board with his “worthy cause.” Donations ranged from $5 to $27. The young woman who agreed to give $27 said that’s what she had donated to [Sen.] Bernie [Sanders].

None of the students expressed opposition which doesn’t necessarily mean they all agreed with Horowitz.

He could have chosen to exclude exchanges with students who pushed back, but I tend to doubt that. By doing so, he would risk harm to his reputation.

Some of the students may have either not known enough or, in some cases, anything about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but went along because they felt intimidated or simply wanted to avoid confrontation. Others may have even disagreed with Horowitz completely, but acquiesced for the same reasons.

Additionally, Horowitz chose a university located in one of the most liberal cities in the country. However, I don’t think his video would have been dramatically different had he gone to any other college campus in the U.S.

The point of this video is that a large number of college students were perfectly willing to donate to a man who tells them he’s planning to destroy Israeli civilian areas.

While we weren’t paying attention, our children were being indoctrinated with leftist ideologies in our schools and universities.

This is a problem because the students of today will be influencing U.S. policy in the future.

In recent weeks, we’ve witnessed pro-Palestinian groups attacking Jews in major U.S. cities. We’ve seen Democratic members of Congress express solidarity with Hamas.

In his inimitable style, “The Great One,” Fox News host Mark Levin, delivers a fiery rebuke to President Joe Biden, whom he calls “the human pandemic,” and to others in his party who have remained silent as the “poison” of anti-Semitism has grown within the Democratic Party.

Levin begins: “[Rep. Rashida] Tlaib [D-MN], who in my opinion is an out of the closet anti-Semite, and she’s joined by 20 or 30 others of the hard, Marxist, Hamas wing of the Democrat party. You have Omar and AOC and Pressley and Bush. You have Bernie Sanders … The Democrats in the House of Representatives voted unanimously against sanctioning Hamas last week during a time when Hamas was firing 4,000 missiles into Israel.”

He cites the unprecedented attacks on Jews and the vandalism on synagogues and other injustices and calls out Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the attorney general, the DHS director and other administration officials for their silence. He asks, “How about the FBI director who says white supremacy is the great danger in this country. Is he blind to what’s happening? … Biden had to be lobbied by liberal Jewish groups and finally on Saturday, he put out a statement. … This is frightening.”

This is “happening all over the world,” he says, “but to be happening in the United States of America is absolutely appalling.”

Levin blames the Democratic Party, “because the Democrat Party is stirring this stuff up.” He mentions their bigoted and anti-Semitic social media posts.

He points out that “Arabs in Israel have more liberties, more due process rights, more property rights, more legal rights than Jews do in any country in any Arab or Muslim society, which means they have none.”

“And at the same time this is going on, you have Democrats embracing Black Lives Matter, which is a hate America, Marxist, anarchist, violent that is also anti-Semitic and backs the BDS movement.”

Watch the video:

The increase in anti-Semitic sentiment since Hamas began firing rockets into Israel two weeks ago is unmistakable. Even The New York Times recognizes it, which is saying something. On Wednesday, an article entitled, “U.S. Faces Outbreak of Anti-Semitic Threats and Violence,” said that, since the hostilities began, “synagogues have been vandalized and Jews have been threatened and attacked.” Although it’s clear whose side they’re on, at least they acknowledge what’s taking place.

Will our President acknowledge this? How about his Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who encouraged U.S. embassies to fly Black Lives Matters flags on Tuesday, the one-year anniversary of “American hero” George Floyd’s death.

Will they do anything to stop it?

Crazytime: 950 Military Ballots in Georgia Audit Sample – 100 Percent Went to Biden

Advertisements
Photo Credit: Image by OpenClipart-Vectors from Pixabay

Steve Bannon spoke to John Fredericks, host of radio show “Outside the Beltway,” on Monday about the audit of 147,000 mail-in ballots cast in the state of Georgia during the November 2020 election.

Out of an analysis batch of 950 military ballots, Fredericks told Bannon, “Joe Biden got 950 votes, Trump zero. That’s 100 percent. That is virtually impossible.”

Fredericks said he’d had Georgia state Sen. Burt Jones as a guest on his show earlier and that Jones and a second state senator are now calling for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to get involved and work side by side with the forensic audit team.

Auditors are trying to determine if any of the ballots cast are counterfeit, he explained.

He noted that “six affidavits of veteran election officials are alleging that up to 30,000 of these 147,000 ballots are fake. Somebody printed them up on a machine and ran them through the vote counting machines.”

First, he tells Bannon, “they’re on different paper.”

Second, “they’re not folded.” These ballots are presumed to have come through the mail or from a dropbox making it inconceivable they haven’t been folded.

Third, “You’ve got the same exact bubble mark on the ballot – the same one for upwards of 30,000 ballots.”

Stunningly, “97 percent of them voting for Joe Biden, 97 percent voting for John Ossoff.”

Fourth, “the affidavits say that the bubble marks are not made by an ink pen or pencil, that they’re made by a machine. These are the things that they’re going to look at.”

Bannon laughs and Fredericks adds, “Not only that, but they were in sequential order. That means that every ballot that came in, in the mail is somehow in exact sequential order?”

Pivoting back to his earlier interview with Sen. Jones, Frederick said, “If Judge Amero [the judge who approved the audit to move forward] makes a declaratory judgement that counterfeit ballots were there, that some of them were counted twice, that’s the other possibility here, he’s going to demand that Gov. [Brian] Kemp call a special session and they’re going to start decertifying elections.”

In addition to the presidential race, these ballot anomalies may have affected down ballot races as well.

Fredericks pointed out that Sen. David Perdue, a Republican, may have won in the first ballot. (Perdue was required to win by a minimum of 2 percent in November in order to avoid the January 5 Georgia run-off. His margin of victory over his Democratic opponent, Jon Ossoff, wound up to be only 1.8 percent. Current Sen. Jon Ossoff prevailed in January by 1.2 percent, flipping the seat.)

Close House races and state House and Senate races were likely affected as well.

These are some pretty shocking revelations. Perhaps what is most astounding is, assuming this is all proven, that the fraudsters weren’t more careful. Absentee ballots in sequential order? Different paper? One hundred percent of the sample military ballots and 97 percent of the others going to Joe Biden?

It’s possible that they’d underestimated Trump’s strength and had to work very fast to make up the deficit.

At any rate, there were additional irregularities that took place on election night that were never satisfactorily explained.

Early on Election Night, it was reported that a pipe had burst at the State Farm Arena and that it would be necessary to stop counting the votes temporarily. It turned out that a urinal had overflowed early in the morning on Election Day.

We all remember the rather remarkable videos of election workers pulling several cases of ballots out from under a table with a tablecloth after the election supervisor had dismissed most of the workers on Election Night.

If ever there was a smoking gun, that video was one. No rational explanation was ever given for that episode. The news cycle simply moved on and it was forgotten.

Fran Watson. Where have we heard that name before?

Watson spoke to then-President Donald Trump on December 23 and briefed the deputy secretary of state, Jordan Fuchs, afterward.

Fuchs later misrepresented the phone call in a conversation with a Washington Post reporter who printed a story about the lies. It went viral.

When the Wall Street Journal published an audio recording of the call which revealed the actual words that had been said, The Post was forced to issue a rare and embarrassing correction.

For nearly three months, knowing that the original Washington Post story misquoted the President, Fran Watson and Jordan Fuchs remained silent. House Democrats even used the words Trump had not uttered in that phone call as evidence in his second impeachment trial.

The Trump legal team challenged thousands of votes they believed were fraudulent. Below is a list published by The Federalist.

  • 2,560 felons
  • 66,247 underage registrants
  • 2,423 people who were not on the state’s voter rolls
  • 4,926 voters who had registered in another state after they registered in Georgia, making them ineligible
  • 395 people who cast votes in another state for the same election
  • 15,700 voters who had filed national change of address forms without re-registering
  • 40,279 people who had moved counties without re-registering
  • 1,043 people who claimed the physical impossibility of a P.O. Box as their address
  • 98 people who registered after the deadline, and, among others
  • 10,315 people who were deceased on election day (8,718 of whom had been registered as dead before their votes were accepted)

Although anti-Trumpers inside the Georgia Secretary of State’s office have repeatedly tried to end speculation surrounding events that occurred at the Fulton County State Farm Arena ballot-counting center on Election Night, they’ve never completely succeeded.

I bet no one is more surprised about this latest turn of events than the secretary of state himself, Brad Raffensperger. It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

Straight Down the Leash

Ah yes, the coveted ‘day off’ – no labor in the garden plot of the fourth first, no books to balance, no yardwork and my new cat has just re-entered her daily, 22-hour period of slumber.

It’s “Richard Edward time” now; coffee and a slow, steady ingestion of the news, punctuated by quick trips to the fridge to steal another piece of my only culinary triumph; a home-marinade, grass-fed, dehydrated-in-my-very own-oven beef jerky. All while the fourth first is occupied on a call to her sister in Ukraine.

News intake routine activated? Yes. Initial news scan results? Yes, the news is as annoying today as it is on any other day – and as horrifyingly predictable … or is it predictably horrifying. One article in and I am already running from an avalanche of stupid.

Our friends at Fox News tell us that “Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) led a group of her House Democratic colleagues in a letter to federal immigration officials demanding an overhaul of immigration policies and objecting to gang members in the country illegally being targeted for deportation.”

The group further posits that:

The lawmakers claim an interim enforcement memo issued by ICE “does not adequately protect the liberty interests of asylum seekers” and presumes an illegal migrant — including those convicted of aggravated felonies — to be a “border security and enforcement and removal priority.”

“It is well documented that law enforcement’s practices of labelling people as gang-involved is often faulty, based on arbitrary and racist factors, and not subject to due process,” the lawmakers claimed.

“We are in a moment of racial reckoning in this country, with communities across the country calling for an end to mass incarceration and racist policing,” the group continued. “It is time to end the carceral approach to immigration, which relies on these same flawed systems.”

What in the blazes? Dems don’t want illegal gang members to be deported? Did I read that right? Border patrol and ICE personnel aren’t capable of identifying the MS-13 gang tattoo on some illegal’s neck and forehead anymore? Is this insanity or some twisted ploy to distract from a more nefarious plot to destroy —

Mr. Narrator (interrupts): “Richard Edward you did read that ‘right’ and you read it correctly, too. The Squad and many other social justice Democrats are concerned that illegals who have been convicted of aggravated felonies are presumed, by DHS, to be a ‘border security and enforcement and removal priority’; a DHS priority that they opine is trampling all over those poor dear’s rights.”

Richard Edward: “This is crazy talk, reflecting crazy thinking. This isn’t difficult. Even I can determine the difference between a young, central American male covered in gang tattoos from one with crazy Nancy’s ‘spark of divinity’ on his face. Who is the leader of this particular social justice cult that is telling the American people that wrong is right, bad is good, hoodlums are choirboys, and that seasoned law enforcement officers only super-power is one that always ends in the mis-identification of ‘good’ criminal illegals for ‘bad’ criminal illegals?”

Mr. Narrator: “Think about if for a minute, Richard Edward. Think about the groupthink of those 35 Democrats and their rote quotation of their social justice catechism. What do you really hear? Where do you think it begins? How uniform does their litany seem to be and who may have trained these mongrels, the ones who howl at the moon of laws and righteousness? Use your knower, try hard to remember.”

Richard Edward: “Yes, I remember now. Back in the day I used to say I could match any of my squadron’s working dogs with their handlers by simply observing the handler’s behavior. I believed then, and still do, that the personality of the handler goes right down the leash! Tactical training is critical; but the subtle attitudes, approach and response to situations that complete the effectiveness and credibility of the unit start with the attitude and personality of the handler.”

Mr. Narrator: “I knew you’d remember Richard Edward! Now, think a little harder – who is the ‘handler’ for the social justice Democrats?  Who holds the leash? Who dictates the training? Who gives the commands? Who issues the talking points and sets the goals for the group? I’ll help you Richard Edward. It’s not AOC. She is a parrot and a mixologist, not a handler. Think further up the leash.”

Richard Edward: “It can’t be Joey Robinette, Mr. Narrator. He is far too muddled in his thinking to come up with such a preposterous perversion of professional policing and border control. Joey wouldn’t be able to hold even an incoherent thought long enough to come up with this kind of woke poop.”

Mr. Narrator: “I’ll give you one last hint, Richard Edward. It’s got to be someone with a more sinister thought process, someone who was trained year after year in the dark arts of Marxism, someone who embraces Cloward-Piven strategy as the ‘final solution’ to America’s wonderful culture and history’s best-ever living experiment. It’s someone who must still remember his Muslim roots, who believes that America owes the world an apology for its racist, colonial behavior and that an individual’s wealth is something to be re-distributed to those who didn’t labor to earn it.”

Richard Edward: “Okay, I get it. But how can Obama be the handler? He isn’t in office anymore.”

Mr. Narrator: “Richard Edward, you are so naïve. He has to do something while he waits for the ocean to rise and engulf his new house on Martha’s Vineyard. Don’t you remember, he (joked?) stated in an interview on the CBC how wonderful a third term would be if he could sit in his jammies in his basement and pull the strings of government to someone sitting in the White House, communicating via an earpiece? Why do you think Biden says he’ll be in trouble if he answers press questions? In trouble with who, perhaps his old boss?”

Richard Edward: “Okay, you are spot on. Look at Obama’s personality and his attitude towards America; then look at what Biden and the social justice Dems say and do. I was also correct. It goes right down the leash, after all.”

If you think that dozens of American legislators responding to a hidden handler’s commands can lead to a crisis, please leave a comment and let Mr. Narrator and Richard Edward know your thoughts.

Biden Crashes and Burns as White House Faces Multiple Crises Foreign and Domestic

A perfect storm is swirling around President Joe Biden at the moment as multiple crises, both foreign and domestic, have all struck at once. To make matters worse, some of them are the direct result of his own administration’s ill-advised policies. Is he even aware of them?

The problems began to snowball on Friday morning, when the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that only 266,000 jobs had been added to the economy in April. Wall Street had expected four times that number. The anemic jobs report reversed the string of steady declines in the unemployment rate, boosting it to 6.1 percent.

At the same time, the country is facing a serious labor shortage. “Help wanted” signs appear everywhere. In fact, the Bureau of Labor released new data on Tuesday which revealed “the number of job openings reached a series high of 8.1 million on the last business day of March.” But employers can’t fill positions because the Biden administration sees fit to pay many would-be workers more in unemployment benefits than they could earn at a job.

The government has created a disincentive to work.

Following the bleak employment report on Friday morning, U.S. Chamber of Commerce Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer Neil Bradley issued the following statement:

“The disappointing jobs report makes it clear that paying people not to work is dampening what should be a stronger jobs market. We need a comprehensive approach to dealing with our workforce issues and the very real threat unfilled positions poses to our economic recovery from the pandemic. One step policymakers should take now is ending the $300 weekly supplemental unemployment benefit. Based on the Chamber’s analysis, the $300 benefit results in approximately one in four recipients taking home more in unemployment than they earned working.”

Biden tried to put a positive spin on the story, “Today, there is more evidence our economy is moving in the right direction. This is progress. This is a testament to our new strategy. We’ve got work to do, to state the obvious, we have work to do.”

It certainly would appear so.

Fears that the Biden administration’s excessive spending would lead to high inflation were realized on Wednesday when the Labor Department reported that the Consumer Price Index in April had jumped 4.2 percent from a year earlier. According to CNBC, this was the largest year-over-year increase in inflation since September 2008, the start of the Great Recession.

On Saturday, Biden received the bad news that the Colonial Pipeline, which distributes close to 2.5 million barrels of fuel to states on the Eastern Seaboard, was forced to shut down after becoming the target of a ransomware cyber attack. Many states are experiencing severe gas shortages, causing long lines at the pumps and price increases.

Prior to the pipeline shutdown, gasoline prices were already up by an average of 75 cents per gallon since the Nov. 3 election. Forbes’ David Blackmon attributes this to the energy policies of the current administration.

“The markets clearly see the Biden/Harris administration as one that will work to inhibit U.S. oil production, which will also have the effect of tightening the global market, and traders have responded by driving up the price of crude oil,” Blackmon wrote.

How quickly the U.S. has gone from low gas prices and near energy independence to high prices and likely dependence on foreign oil.

The border crisis continues to spiral out of control. In April, 178,622 illegals were apprehended at the southern border, remaining at a 20-year-high.

Additionally, Palestinian militants in Gaza have fired over 1,000 rockets into Israel since Monday, according to a Wednesday BBC report:

“The deadly exchange of fire … has escalated significantly, with the UN fearing a ‘full-scale war.’ Israel has carried out hundreds of air strikes on Gaza, destroying three tower blocks and killing senior Hamas officials. At least 53 Palestinians and six Israelis have been killed since Monday,” the BBC reported.

Fox News senior editor Jeffrey Koffler reported that Biden is feeling the heat from both the left and the right over the conflict in Israel.

Richard Edward in the Garden of Politics

Advertisements
Photo Credit: Image by Mabel Amber, who will one day from Pixabay

I am on my second cup of coffee and I still can’t face the day (sorry Mr. Lightfoot). Why? I am scheduled to witness, firsthand, the premier of manual labor, a play I would rather not attend. Since the fourth First Lady’s acquisition of an unusually large garden plot, the task of clean-up and planting preparation has been hanging over my head. I run through my mental checklist before leaving for the plot …

Irrigation? Check. Not designed and installed yet, but those soaker hoses and that timer you bought yesterday should work. At least there is a hose bib with running water.

Planter beds? Check. Not installed yet, but those raised bed kits that you bought yesterday shouldn’t take too much effort to assemble and fill with steer poop.

Crop cage? Check. Framework installed and in relatively good shape, except for all those places where the chicken wire overlaps and needs to be secured.  Those zip ties and wire clips you purchased should come in handy.

Oh well, glance at the watch, it’s not quite yet gotten to be 100° before noon, so it could be worse.

As I run through my checklist, I notice that my cat awakens from her nocturnal slumber, perched upon the counter-height chair, visions of rogue mice beginning to fade from her cat brain. She glances my direction, slow blinks, jumps from her perch and immediately begins her morning routine of cat yoga….assuming her favorite position of downward feline.

Mr. Narrator (interrupts): “Richard Edward, it’s not getting any cooler outside. Quit stalling, get your tools together and get on with the garden site prep.”

Richard Edward: “You’re right Mr. Narrator. I’ve been putting this off. There really is so much work to be done, even before the actual work of planting and harvesting, that the reward of organic vegetables appears diminished. Anyway, I’ll grab the rakes and hoes and meet you and the fourth first at the car.”

As I step into my garage, the lizard portion of my cortex lights up. Rakes and hoes, why does that seem so familiar? Then I realize that the ‘rakes and hoes’ tools that I seek now are in reality, those very political actors that I loathe so much. Now I understand why I don’t want to do this; these tools of the garden are simply representations; its really about the bogeymen of my political awareness — professional politicians.

Mr. Narrator (interrupts again): “Richard Edward, stop! Not all politicians are rakes and hoes. While I do see some similarities with the current administration’s leadership, many of those political actors are not solely consigned to behave like the ‘lower tools’ in life’s garden. Rakes and hoes may be basic tools, but it doesn’t mean that they are base. There are some honest folks in Washington.”

I hate when Mr. Narrator makes word play.

Richard Edward: “Ok, I’ll play your garden word game. You just might be correct. But even so, in the garden that is D.C., there really are tools, rakes, hoes and more than a few weeds that need to be removed.”

“Rakes? I’d nominate Slick Willy, Hunter Biden and yes, even Joey Robinette in his younger days. John Kennedy was also reputed to be something of a rake, no?”

“Hoes? Well, there are far too many to mention in gentlemanly conversation, but how many pols have you seen that will do anything for a (lobbyist) buck? While its not the world’s oldest profession (navigators will tell you that someone first had to lead the customer to find them), it appears that many legislators and those in the administration have decided that selling one’s integrity is a profitable enterprise. I mean, how many folks on the CDC staff are eligible for royalties from drug patents?”

“Tools? The list is long Mr. Narrator. Crazy Nancy Pelosi, Fang Fang Swalwell, ‘Guam” Johnson and that shifty, bug-eyed dude from CA who always has the ‘goods’ on everyone but just never delivers, Mitt Romney and then any Democrat member of any oversight committee. So many tools they could open a big box garden store. C’mon man, name one Democratic legislator who is smarter than a hand trowel?”

“Weeds? Don’t get me started! Toxic, strangling the life out of legitimate political endeavors. … The weeds could be the worst of the bunch in the political garden; spreading poison amongst the legitimate programs that are trying to bear fruit. Weeds compete with good crops for water, soil, sunlight, nourishment and yet they produce nothing. (Looking at you AOC, Bernie Sanders, Auntie Maxine, Ilhan Omar.)”

Mr. Narrator: “Okay, Richard Edward, enough.  You’ve made your point. We obviously need a new master gardener in D.C.”

Richard Edward: “Yes, Mr. Narrator, I knew in my knower that you’d see my point of view. Good gardeners help create life-sustaining environments, tend and care for both seedlings and mature plants, ensure access to water and food, make sure every plant in their garden has its own space and place to grow, and they keep the weeds from choking the good plants.”

“Good legislators do kind of the same things for their constituents. They help create lawful and peaceful environments, promote legislation and administrative programs that benefit the young and the old, help their constituents stay employed, stay in school and ensure that they have access to programs that are designed to promote personal and/or professional growth. As always, the good ones try to keep the weeds from showing up in their districts.

If you think about who represents you, maybe its time to pull a few weeds and if you have to, hire a new gardener.”

“If you think that good gardeners might make good legislators, please let Richard Edward and Mr. Narrator know why you think so. … And if you have one, happy gardening!

Biden Issues India Travel Ban Despite Assuring Us This Was a Racist and Xenophobic Response Last Year

During the Friday White House briefing, Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced that, starting at midnight on Tuesday, May 4, the U.S. will begin restricting travel from India.

“The policy will be implemented in light of extraordinarily high COVID-19 caseloads and multiple variants circulating in India.” Psaki told reporters.

She added that the administration was acting “on the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

CNN reports:

The administration will issue a 212(f) order restricting entry into the US for foreign nationals who have been in India within the previous 14 days, a source familiar with the move said. Airlines have been told of the decision, a source said.

The policy will not apply to American citizens, lawful permanent residents or other people with exemptions. As with all international travelers, individuals who fit that criteria traveling from India must still test negative prior to leaving the country, quarantine if they have not been vaccinated and test negative again upon reentering the US from India. The restrictions also do not apply to humanitarian workers.

According to data website Worldometers, on March 31, India had recorded a total of 12,220,669 cases. The total through Thursday, April 29, stands at 18,754,984. The country has added 6,534,315 cases, a 53.5 percent increase during the month of April.

The Biden Administration’s decision to restrict travel from India as COVID-19 cases spike is perfectly understandable.

But we would be remiss if we didn’t point out what then-United States government official Joe Biden had to say last year after former President Donald Trump enacted travel restrictions from China and Europe.

In the Feb. 1, 2020, tweet below, Biden wrote: “We are in the midst of a crisis with the coronavirus. We need to lead the way with science — not Donald Trump’s record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering. He is the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health emergency.”

A month later, he wrote: “A wall will not stop the coronavirus. Banning all travel from Europe – or any other part of the world – will not stop it.”

So, Joe, were you right then or are you right now? It can’t be both.

Democrats to Biden: Illegal Immigrants Are ‘American Heroes’ Who Deserve Amnesty

A group of 22 Democratic members of Congress sent a letter to President Joe Biden on Tuesday requesting that he include H.R. 1909/S. 747, the Citizenship for Essential Workers Act, as part of the administration’s legislative package on jobs and infrastructure. The lawmakers claim these “essential workers are American heroes — and they have earned the right to become American citizens.” So, they are asking Biden to grant amnesty to at least five million illegal immigrants.

The letter is signed by Reps. Joaquin Castro of Texas and Ted Lieu of California, Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Alex Padilla of California in addition to 18 other Democrats.

“For the past year, essential workers have further proven themselves to be a truly important part of our nation’s critical infrastructure and crucial part of the backbone of our society,” the lawmakers opine. “The U.S. Department of Homeland Security even designated essential workers as part of our nation’s critical infrastructure. … Over five million of these workers are undocumented immigrants.”

“The Citizenship for Essential Workers Act directly relates to the priority of rebuilding America’s economic infrastructure and aligns entirely with the administration’s priority on defeating COVID-19. If Republicans continue to refuse to advance immigration legislation supported by the overwhelming majority of the American people, the next reconciliation package on jobs and infrastructure should include citizenship for essential workers.

“Speaker Pelosi has already indicated her support for including immigration legislation in legislative packages advanced through budget reconciliation given the clear “case about the budget implications of immigration,” while the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and 100 members of the Democratic Caucus have also urged the inclusion of a pathway to citizenship for essential workers in COVID-19 relief legislation. The upcoming legislative package on jobs and infrastructure is the best opportunity to recognize and reward the sacrifices and labor of essential workers.”

There are so many things wrong with this letter, I don’t quite know where to begin.

The economy picked up steam in March. The pace of vaccinations has increased and businesses are opening up again. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. added 916,000 (nonfarm payroll) jobs last month and the unemployment rate fell to 6 percent, according to CNBC data. However, as of April 2, the date of the jobs report, there were still 8.4 million more unemployed Americans than there were in February 2020, before the effects of the pandemic put us into a recession.

The idea of granting amnesty to over five million illegals at this stage in our economic recovery is about as wise as raising taxes.

Democrats tried to add an increase in the minimum wage to the $1.9 trillion bloated boondoggle of a COVID-19 relief bill they passed without a single Republican vote in March. Fortunately, the Senate parliamentarian, Elizabeth MacDonough, objected to its inclusion. She ruled that “the inclusion of the $15 minimum wage hike in a reconciliation bill violated Senate rules.”

If raising the hourly wages of unskilled, low-income American workers were truly important to them, they wouldn’t be lobbying for an influx of new, cheap labor which will compete with lower income earners and depress hourly wages even further.

Illegal immigrants are not American heroes. They are neither American nor are they heroes. They have broken U.S. laws by coming into the country unlawfully. But they know that once they arrive, they need only register with immigration officials and ultimately, they will be given food, shelter, medical care and education for their children. They will become economic parasites of the United States for life.

I suppose one might call them heroic for making the arduous journey to the border, but that was not the context lawmakers were referring to in their letter.

If only the Biden Administration and the Democrats in Congress were as interested in the health and prosperity of U.S. citizens as they are about the well-being of illegal aliens.

Why are Democrats pushing so hard to bring as many illegals into the country as they possibly can?

I’ve never heard anyone explain it better than conservative commentator Candace Owens did during an appearance on Fox News’ “Life, Liberty and Levin” last month. (Note: This episode of Life, Liberty and Levin originally aired on March 28. It can be viewed here. Owen’s segment begins at 17:30.)

Owens believes it’s all part of the administration’s plan to import a new class of voters.

An examination of the Democrats’ historical strategy with black Americans provides a clue into their current objectives.

Owens begins with an explanation of how the Democratic Party, which claims to help blacks through all of their social programs, has actually suppressed them. While it may appear on the surface that Democrats have supported blacks by providing for them financially and rhetorically, their “largesse” has actually been a mechanism designed to hold them back, preventing them from taking the reins and succeeding, from breaking out of the cycle of poverty. Most blacks see only that Democrats are more generous than Republicans and have loyally supported them at the polls for decades. Many of us have known this for a long time.

Owens larger point, however, is that the black population has not grown fast enough for the Democrats. So, they are now “importing” a new class of voters. Democrats will ensure these people receive health care and that they are housed, fed and even educated. The party will see to it that the illegals now flooding into the U.S. from Central and South America in record numbers will become completely dependent on them for their survival.

Just as the majority of blacks continue to vote Democratic, so too, will the Hispanics. The cycle of poverty will repeat itself.

“Everyone keeps calling this a border crisis Mark. This isn’t a border crisis, this is a border plan,” Owens tells Levin.

“They are trying to import a new class of voters. They are trying to say to the Mexican-Americans, to the South-Americans … ‘we will help you, we’ll give you free stuff like we gave black Americans free stuff after Jim Crow ended. We’re gonna welfare-ize you. We’re gonna give you handouts, we’re gonna marry you to the government like we married black Americans to the government.’ It’s pure evil.”

Levin spoke about the media’s coverage of last month’s mass shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, that left eight people dead (including six Asians) and the Boulder, Colorado grocery store shooting that left 10 ten dead. In each case, the media racialized the stories. Levin says, “They’re racializing these issues. Of course, they’re only racializing it in one direction. These people in the media, these people in the Democrat Party are tearing this country apart, don’t you think?”

“With intention, with pure evil intention, they are tearing this country apart because they realize that race gives them power. Because people get emotional about race, right? They don’t even know the facts of the story, but if they say, ‘this was a white supremacist attack,’ they know that black Americans will instantly get angry and that’s how they need them. They rely on emotion, because it suspends rationality,” replied Owens.

“They don’t want people thinking rationally, they don’t want them thinking clearly, they don’t want them actually pursuing the facts,” she said. “They don’t want them looking at the data.”

This culture of racism, Owens explained, “was not created by black Americans, that culture was created by Democrats. Systematically created by Democrats – by Lyndon Baines Johnson who is hailed as a hero in textbooks when he was anything but. He was an avowed racist who sought to make sure that black Americans were programmed, that their families were destroyed and that they turned to the government for every single answer. And that is why we have a rotten culture in black America today. It was orchestrated by the people that always were the racists and continue today to be the racists and that is the Democrat Party.”

Biden and Harris are very well aware of conditions at the border. From their perspective, everything is moving ahead according to plan. They knew it would be a little “messy” in the beginning. But as always with Democrats, and this is especially true for today’s Democrats, the end justifies the means. The (roughly) two million illegal immigrants who will likely flow into our country this year will be added to the millions more who preceded them.

(Note: No one knows how many illegals are currently residing in America. I have seen figures ranging from 11 million to 29 million. My guess is the true number is closer to the latter,)

Democrats are hoping to preside over a repeat of the same cycle of dependency that worked so well for them with black Americans from the 1960s on. They will meet their every need and taxpayers will foot the bill. They will grant amnesty and provide a path to citizenship for them.

They expect members of this demographic group to become loyal Democratic voters who will help cement their power for as long as possible. In the end, the story may play out differently with Hispanics than it did for blacks, but that’s fodder for a different post. The point is that this is all part of the Democrats’ larger strategy to ensure one-party rule in America for generations to come.
